Project Submission for the Washington TSA HS Video Game Design Competition 2022

Theme:  Arcade Game for a Museum

Artifact unites the artistic, atmospheric, and musical components of traditional arcade games together in a mysterious museum environment—specified by TSA. From a Museum Guard’s perspective, players discover the methods that Museums must employ to preserve and protect Artifacts from disturbances—in this case, through brute force. The security guard, known internally as Jared, guards a museum with 5 distinct rooms, connected through a central hallway. In correspondence to museums within reality, each room represents a distinct exhibit with one centralized artifact at the center of each room. Armed with some confidence and a killer ability to grab items out of thieves’ hands, the security guard patrols the museum to prevent the theft of the precious artifacts. Player score increases as time increases but eventually the game concludes when the thief steals all artifacts. The thief also gets faster throughout the game, adding greater challenge.
